Based in Los Angeles, Puppett originally hails from the suburbs of DC. Puppett began making films in 2002. While she has helmed numerous short narrative, documentary, and experimental films, her passion lies in narrative work. Wedlocked marks Puppett's directorial debut since earning her BFA in Film and Digital Video from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Finished in October 2015, Wedlocked has been accepted into 38 film festivals worldwide, winning Diversity in the Arts Award from Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival, Best LGBT at the New Media Film Festival, and Best LGBTQ Short Film at the Independent Filmmakers Showcase, as well as an Award of Merit Special Mention from The Best Shorts Competition. Her most recent short film, Glenda, premiered at the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival.
She edited a corporate video spoof of "The Office" for William Morris Endeavor, which won their "2015 Video of the Year."
Puppett is excited about bringing visions to life, whether that be creating well-timed dramatic and comedic moments in films, using tempo-induced cuts in music videos, or maneuvering scenes to emphasize an actor in their demo reel.
While Puppett is primarily working as an editor in Los Angeles, she is also pursuing her directing and acting goals, and exploring how these three pursuits inform each other. She is currently developing two short and two feature screenplays. You can check out her acting portfolio here: www.anactornamedpuppett.com
